Denis Island, Seychelles

Denis Island is north of Mahe but don't plan on visiting this island unless you are a guest of the Denis Island Lodge, which owns the entire island. Yes, this is a private island amongst the Seychelles chain of islands, and it doesn't get more exlusive than this. It was discovered in the late 1700s by French man by the name of Denis de Trobriand. If you are lucky enough to stay at the Denis Island lodge, take advantage of their scuba diving packages. If scuba isn't your bag, you can book a deep-sea fishing charter with a local captain for some of the best fishing ever. If you are a bird-watcher and you have tons of dough, Denis Island is the place for you. It's a birder's delight, just as good as Bird Island here in the Seychelles, but fewer people, since it's a private island.
